Alive - Studio Album - Part 1

Alive and still breathing. This album has been many years in the making and has been written and produced between myself, my close friends and family.

With influences of Deep-tech, Tech House, Dub Techno and Tribal. Alive – Part 1 features vocals by Frank Hill, Craig Tuckey on percussion where much of the drums were recorded at his studio. Vocals provided by Ithaka, Big Bad Bal & Blench. and additional production from Jackarack.

Forma.music is an outlet for my unreleased underground house and techno tracks. I wanted to create a new alias from my own name “Wade Bennett” and I have locked these collaborations away over the years till I was ready to release them as Ben Bae.

Part 1 was coproduced during lockdown along side goth house pioneer Jackarack who recently featured on BBC radio 6 with his latest Ep titled Goth House and plans to make it a recognised genre.

Also featuring a peak time tech house track laced with acid lines “The End of the Earth” sampled vocals from the famous “So get up” speech, which was kindly provided with permission by US poet and writer Ithaka.

This project has been a labour of love and your support means a lot.

Alive - Studio Album - Part 2

Part 2 of the album introduces the title track “Alive” which was produced in collaboration with Jackarack. This is a psychedelic dark acid techno number with mecha.muse designing the music video in a dark futuristic dystopian universe.

The biomechanic theme is the lead inspiration for the music art, videos and merchandise for the whole project. The dark sci-fi horror imagery, shows an alternate distant future where Ai and liquid robotics become alive and take over the earth.

The second track “Sunrise” is a soulful deep-tech and minimal house track and features rising singer songwriter Charlotte Atkins aka CHAR, who has releases on many labels with the likes of Defected and recently performed alongside Klue to a sea of people live at Glastonbury.

Her voice stands out and just makes people want to dance and brings her soul to album. Her quick rise to success, a sure sign that she is one to watch out for. Have this track fired up for those magic “Sunrise” moments!

The next track “Done” was a dub techno track we worked on that lost the original projects files with chars vocals, which then sat on a hard drive for years. ironically it was called “Done” at the time so we can’t work on it anymore, and decided to release it. Some times perfectionism is prevented by the universe.

Alive - Studio Album - Part 3

Sabotage a heavy dark melodic techno track with peak time energy introduces Part 3 of Alive. A bitter sweet track which was made in my last studio before it was flooded, loosing a lot of my equipment and computer with the project files for this album on.

A true sabotage to my life.

The video for the track is a brutal depiction of our entanglements with technology and how Ai will eventually consume all of us. Official merchandise by mecha.muse for the album is available https://forma.music/shop

The next tracks of the album feature vocals from my brother “Blench” who sings through the whole project. Ventilator breathes a dark and heavy tech house track into the album with synths and drums that leave you lost for breath. The vocals were recorded through lock down and have a soulful yet emotional feel to them. I wanted us to make a banger to cheer us up for when everything was falling apart.

The final track lifts the mood to a more uplifting and dubby progressive house feel, “True Love” was produced many years ago in my old studio with vocals by blench. made with love from one brother to another. With lots of riffy guitar adlibs and dub techno chords. Sometimes due to healing have to take our time. The song just fits well as a good mood ending to my first album. Enjoy
